Catching up is May 25, and I just realized I haven't posted at all in May. That is ridiculous. Mainly because I am denying y'all the pleasure of "oohing" and "ahhing" over my adorable kiddos. :)

We have not fallen off the face of the earth, but we have had a busy month at our house. Tornadoes hit all around us shortly after my last post. We were watching on TV as is raged through Tuscaloosa, where we lived for three years. I couldn't believe it. I still can't. Thankfully, all of my friends and former co-workers made it through ok, even though some suffered damage. And some lost everything - house, cars, etc. Still so hard to comprehend.

We went to the beach with Cole's family which provided a much needed break for both of us. My wonderful mom kept the twins in Birmingham. Cole and I unexpectedly got to visit briefly with our friend and former campus minister from RUF at Furman, Rob. We had a great time catching up as always. He's hilarious. Overall, it was nice to relax with Cole's family and soak up a little sun.

Sadly, while we were at the beach, my grandmother (my mom's mom) passed away. She was 88. I am sad that those of us still here don't have her to talk and laugh with, but I am happy she is resting now. I am certain she is rejoicing in heaven with our Father. And that makes me smile.

We went to Monroeville last weekend for a good friend's party to celebrate her engagement and upcoming wedding. We are so glad we could be there and loved seeing my parents. HOWEVER, the drive that should have taken 3 hours took 7.5 hours. Ridiculous. A diesel tanker overturned and closed BOTH northbound and southbound lanes of I-65. The twins were troopers and hung in there as best as they could, but it still wasn't fun. After we made it through the traffic, we stopped for dinner and to let the babies out of their car seats.

We've had a few other happenings around here, but I'll save those for later. For now, I'll leave you with a couple of pictures.

I'm glad you got to have a nice vacation. I'd love to take my kids to the beach, but it's so far away!
