Father's Day and Thoughts about New Baby

For Father's Day this year, we celebrated with my dad (we were in Monroeville for a wedding) and my entire family. And my father-in-law celebrated with my kids. :)

I got Cole a little gift this year, but I haven't given it to him yet so I can't tell y'all about it quite yet! His birthday is also this week (Wednesday), so I've decided to give him both of his gifts on that day.

For a while yesterday, we thought we would meet New Baby, but unfortunately that didn't happen. I think he's enjoying teasing us.

As his birth day nears, I am simultaneously excited and nervous. I had a fantastic labor and delivery with the twins (not including the week I spent in the hospital before they were born!). I am a little worried that this time around won't be as easy. I know I have no control over it, so I try not to dwell on it too much. But since I'm pretty much constantly having contractions (most of them don't hurt...they're just uncomfortable), it's hard to think about anything else.

I went to the doctor today, and he guessed that I wouldn't make it to my due date (July 11). I'm not sure if I was glad to hear that or if it will just make the wait seem that much longer. While in the hospital before having the twins, I remember thinking I would surely be pregnant, miserable, and in a hospital bed for the rest of my life. Now I'm thinking that I will be 37 weeks pregnant and having contractions all day every day for the rest of my life. (When I'm thinking more clearly I know this isn't true, but it certainly seems like it is lately.)

The plan for now is to sit tight at home until I am positive labor has started. Cole is terrified we will have this baby at home or on the side of the road. Clearly he doesn't trust me. :)

In more exciting, and non-baby related, news, I got an iPhone today! It's so pretty! Cole got it for me for our anniversary which is Saturday. Until now I'd had a "dumb" phone (a regular flip phone), but now I'm technologically caught up. I'm working on getting a case for it before I hurt it. It's definitely the best anniversary present he's gotten me during our six years of marriage.

So, that's me in a nutshell. I really, really hope I will be posting about New Baby's arrival very soon.

Found your blog and love it...you do not need to have this baby this week, mainly because you don't need 2 birthdays, fathers day, and an anniversary all in one week! Wait till next week...lots of love from Tuscaloosa, can't wait to see pictures of your new little one!

You are gonna LOVE that iphone. I do NOT know how you have made it this far without one!! and those contractions are great because typically that means your body will be all ready to have that baby and labor will be easy! That was my experience with peebs anyway! I was dialated and 100% effaced before I ever even went to the hospital!
